HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET WINDOWS?

delivery date for windows

I know you want your new windows in ASAP. But an extra week or two is really not that big of deal, trust me!
We always tell our customers considering a replacement window project to remember that these will be their home for many decades down the line so waiting a few extra weeks is usually no big deal.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET WINDOWS?

OK, HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?

This is always a tough question for window contractors, but I know that in most Window and Door Specialties markets our company averages about 10-12 weeks from when the customer places their order until they get windows. This was not really true six months ago and it may be different next month. Whether you’re getting your windows, siding, or door replaced, there are supply issues all over the market with all window manufacturers, causing it to take much longer for your products to come in than it normally would. These are unheard-of times. With the COVID-19 pandemic, numerous struggles have come about that manufacturers and contractors have never had to deal with.

Is your deadline really rigid or flexible? We have a client in North Carolina who needed new windows by Thanksgiving. We told her we could try for that but it’s not guaranteed and she got upset because we could not guarantee her deadline would be met. Her new windows were installed before Christmas which made her happy. It ends up her Thanksgiving deadline was a little flexible.

WHAT TO DO?

You should talk with us about what will happen if the windows can’t be installed by your date. Remember, COVID-19 has slowed the global market down. It’s also possible it rains on your installation date or someone runs over them with their forklift in between loading docks – just because something hasn’t happened yet doesn’t mean they won’t do so at some point down the line (and surprise!)

We suggest ordering your new windows as far in advance as possible. Allow 3 to 4 months for delivery of your windows from our manufacturers. This way, we should have your new windows installed by your deadline.

Contact your nearest Window and Door Specialities location in Asheville/Hendersonville, Charlotte, Fayetteville, or Myrtle Beach as soon as possible to discuss your window project. Again, the sooner the better to avoid any frustrations!
